Central Band of the Royal Air Force
Great favourites at the Royal Cornwall Show, the RAF band has an 85-year history, a world-wide reputation, a long tradition of recording, a magnificent repertoire and a stunning marching display.
This band was the first outside the USA to be awarded the John Philip Sousa citation for musical excellence. And that is a real achievement.
In 1955 they had a number one hit with their recording of the music for the film The Dambusters. It will no doubt be heard again at the 2006 Royal Cornwall Show.
