The City (of London) comes to Cornwall

The Lord Mayor of London

City of London parade

The City of London is coming to the Royal Cornwall Show - and there will be a major programme in the main ring mounted by the historic guilds and liveries.

A colourful and entertaining pageant will be performed each day by members of the Light Cavalry which was formed in 1831 as a sub-unit of the Honourable Artillery Company.

The Light Cavalry

Friday will be the big day, when the main ring display will also include the Honourable Artillery Company, the Pikemen and Musketeers and other guild elements normally associated with the Lord Mayor's Show. These include the Britzka horse-drawn carriage, the Drapers' Barge and a parade of livery companies.

The Lord Mayor will take the salute as the parade passes.
