City comes to Cornwall
The City of London Marquee
The City of London is making its presence felt throughout the show.
There will be displays every day in the main ring and a marquee on the showground.
Inside, up to 34 guilds and liveries will be represented. The idea is to display the history and heritage of these organisations, as well as describing their modern role.
The major London markets, such as Billingsgate and Spitalfields will also mount displays.
The hope is that these displays will not only be of interest to the general visitor but will also forge a practical, working link between important activities such as farming and fishing in Cornwall, with the equivalent markets in London.
